Like most Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian dishes, Manakish predates the Zionist state by centuries. These are not recipes that Jews carried with them over the centuries to Europe, or back to Palestine when they invaded. Why pretend this is "Israeli" culture by default? It's not.
