I think that the dev unintentionally found the key to success: the tip is to make controversial games to generate controversy and consequently free publicity, what is controversial, prohibited and banned attracts the curiosity of many, making the majority try the game to see if it really is all that, and to hell with the hypocrites.

And let’s not forget the traditional depictions, especially from that era of gaming. A lot of characters were made to be “hot” on all sides. Let’s not forget that 47 is a genetic Gigachad who looks like a model himself. Most male lead characters in a lot of settings feature iron clad jaws, abs of steel, huge charisma etc. And why wouldn’t they be?
