Summary
| Description |
English: Monday October 20th, 1980 and Australian heavy metal heroes AC/DC rock Leicester de Montfort Hall on their "Back in Black" tour. If you were going to see AC/DC live, this was the moment to do it - with new front-man Jonah Johnson replacing the deceased Bon Scott and that now-classic album riding high in the charts. Security was tight, but I managed to smuggle my trusty Zenith E (with fixed 50mm lens) into the gig, which was standing only downstairs. At the time AC/DC were vying for "loudest band in the world" honours with rivals, Motorhead. The Aussies light-show far outshone the British band, who would take another two years to develop their famous "Bomber" lighting rig.
This was a truly outstanding performance, with a re-energized band at the top of their game. A privilege to have been there and to be able to share these shots. |
